BEHIND THE MASK: Leadership is a Piece of C.A.K.E.

|

We’re giving you a big reveal of SCACPA Con! These sessions aren’t just presentations — they’re missions. Each one is crafted to equip you with the tools, insights, and strategies to face the challenges of today’s profession.

This week, we’re peaking behind the mask of Sloan Joseph, instructional coach at Greenville County School District. She is ready to uncover the recipe for successful leadership.

Great leadership isn’t just about authority—it’s about collaboration, accountability, knowledge, and excellence. That’s the recipe for success, and in this session, we’re breaking it down, layer by layer.

C.A.K.E. is more than a catchy acronym—it’s a framework designed to help teams work better together and lead with purpose. First, we focus on Culture, the foundation of any thriving organization. A strong, positive culture fosters trust, motivation, and a shared sense of purpose. Without it, even the most talented teams struggle to succeed.

Next comes Accountability—the ingredient that keeps everything from crumbling. When team members take ownership of their roles and responsibilities, it strengthens trust and drives results. But accountability isn’t about blame—it’s about clarity, commitment, and follow-through.

Then we have Knowledge, because leadership isn’t about knowing everything—it’s about ensuring that learning never stops. Strong teams prioritize mentorship, collaboration, and continuous growth. When knowledge is shared, everyone gets better.

Finally, we top it all off with Excellence. This isn’t about perfection but about consistently striving to improve, innovate, and elevate the team’s performance. Excellence is a habit, and the best leaders model it daily.

Through engaging activities and real-world strategies, this session will help you strengthen your team, enhance collaboration, and lead with confidence. Because when leadership is a piece of C.A.K.E., success isn’t reserved for a select few—everyone gets a slice, and together, we create something truly remarkable.

Sloan Joseph is an instructional coach at Greenville County School District and a seasoned speaker on leadership who has presented at multiple SCACPA conferences.
