IRS Contingency Plan Ensures 100% Staffing Until Feb. 7

On Jan. 30, the IRS published the IRS FY 2026 Lapsed Appropriations Contingency Plan in anticipation for the partial government shutdown. Under the plan, which remains in effect until Feb. 7, all IRS employees will continue working, drawing on funding from the Inflation Reduction Act.

The South Carolina Association of CPAs is closely monitoring these developments and will continue to provide updates as they become available.
