|

This week brought forward important updates regarding South Carolina state tax filings for 2025. We understand the pressure and frustration you may be experiencing, and we are committed to keeping you in the loop as we continue our work with legislators and regulators.

SCDOR Extends Filing Deadline

The Department of Revenue announced today that it has extended the filing deadline for South Carolina returns to October 15, 2026. The full announcement can be found here. We continue to advise that you adhere to the DOR’s guidance from its January 30 information letter when filing client returns.

Status of Conformity

House Bill 3368 was due for a second reading this week in the Senate, however, the reading was delayed due to conflicting priorities. Today, when the bill was brought up, it was opposed. With that, the bill has not moved this week. The Senate is not scheduled to meet again until next week.

We are in conversations with legislators regarding solutions, and we will continue to keep you informed as events update.

This information is current as of March 27, 2026.
