As we expand our presence into new markets, we are actively seeking a remote Tax Manager based in the Charlotte, NC area or onsite in Columbia, SC to join our growing team.
What You’ll Do:
As a Tax Manager at BPS, you will play a key role in managing client relationships, overseeing project teams, and delivering high-quality tax services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on complex tax matters.
- Managing and reviewing federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
- Leading and mentoring a team of tax professionals; reviewing work, providing feedback, and guiding their professional development.
- Taking full ownership of tax engagements, including scheduling, budgeting, and meeting deadlines.
- Collaborating with firm leadership on strategic initiatives and client growth opportunities.
- Ensuring compliance with current tax laws and staying informed on legislative changes affecting clients.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience, with a focus on tax.
- Active CPA license required.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams, delegate effectively, and coach junior staff.
- Strong technical proficiency in individual, corporate, and partnership taxation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of building strong client relationships.
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Experience with UltraTax, CCH, or similar tax software is a plus.
