Genuine Learning Blog: Private Equity & the Profession: PEEC’s Proposed Independence Guidance

The AICPA’s Professional Ethics Executive Committee (PEEC) has issued a discussion memorandum to gather feedback on alternative practice structures, including those with private equity investments, and impacts on independence.

As we’ve seen an expansion of private equity in CPA firms, the AICPA is proposing two potential paths. Comments are due by June 15, 2025, to ethics-exposuredrafts@aicpa.org.
