IRS Warns of Dirty Dozen Tax Scams for 2025

| ,

The IRS Dirty Dozen list of tax scams for 2025 comes with a warning to watch for common schemes that threaten your tax and financial information.

This year’s list includes email schemes, misleading tax credits, bad social media advice, fake charities and the overstated withholding scam, just to name a few. Many of these tax scams occur year-round as fraudsters try to steal your money, personal information and data.

IRS urges you to report promoters of improper and abusive tax schemes and tax return preparers who intentionally prepare improper returns.
