SCACPApalooza Backstage Preview | Playing by the Rules: Keeping HR Compliance in the Workplace

| ,

Tune in to a sneak peek of SCACPApalooza! This week, we’re turning up the volume on Kelli Long from KG Workforce. She’s ready to rock the stage with an essential session on HR Compliance, covering everything from preventing harassment and discrimination to navigating workplace regulations. KG Workforce will also have a booth at this year’s Fall Fest SCACPApalooza! Be sure to stop by, say hello, and get expert advice on keeping your workplace in tune with compliance.

“The session kicks off with a simple question: Why does HR compliance matter? It’s not just about avoiding fines or lawsuits—it’s about building a culture where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. From there, we dive into the key laws and regulations that affect the workplace, like the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and anti-discrimination rules. We break it down into real talk: what you need to know, and how to avoid mistakes.

One of the core sections focuses on preventing harassment and discrimination. We explore what it looks like in everyday situations and how to handle things if you see it happening. The goal is to empower people to speak up and create an inclusive, respectful workplace.

To keep things engaging, we use real-world examples, interactive discussions, and even some role-playing scenarios if we can solicit some willing audience participants! This way, the training isn’t just a list of do’s and don’ts—it’s practical, relatable, and fun. We also cover how to properly document any issues, deal with conflicts, and navigate privacy rules.

We will wrap up with an Ask HR Anything session where you can pose real, hypothetical, or “this happened to my friend” questions.

By the end of the session, everyone walks away with a clear sense of their responsibilities, feeling confident about how to stay compliant while contributing to a workplace that’s both lawful and engagement for team members. “

Don’t miss your chance to be part of the encore at SCACPApalooza!

Grab your ticket to the show, register now, and get ready for a lineup of sessions that will keep you in tune with the latest in accounting.
