According to a recentIMA and CalCPA study, one-in-five LGBTQ+ respondents in the US report they have left the accounting profession due to a lack of DEI, mainly due to not feeling comfortable bringing their full selves to work. Also, 43-55% of female, nonwhite, Hispanic, Latino and LGBTQIA respondents have left due to perceived lack of equitable treatment.
